This data complied by the Direct Selling Association (DSA).

If you look at the percentages and then look at many of the top producers in the network marketing industry you learn why they are successful. Top producers focus on the highest income producing activities which are listed above and below.

I was amazed that the internet was not a higher percentage.

**********************************

Face-to-Face Selling – 78.1%

In the home (including sellers’ self-consumption) – 73.3%

At a temporary locations (fair, exhibition, etc.) – 2.3%

In the work place – 2.2%

Other locations (office, etc.) .3%

Remote Selling by direct sellers – 12.1%

Internet (World Wide Web, email) – 7.3%

Phone – 4.6%

Other (mail, fax, etc.) – .2%

Remote Selling by companies – 6.0%

Autoshipments (to customers of direct sellers) – 3.8%

**********************************

In conclusion, belly-to-belly interaction is the quickest way to build an organization and makes up 78.1% of sales. Remote selling makes up 12.1% and should be done in addition to the core  face-to-face interaction when building an organization.
