During the past 20 years, there has been a dramatic increase in obesity in the United States and rates remain high. In 2010, no state had a prevalence of obesity less than 20%. Thirty-six states had a prevalence of 25% or more; 12 of these states (Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia) had a prevalence of 30% or more.

Dr OZ has now teamed up with Weight Watchers and started the Transformation Nation the Million Dollar You to help in fighting America’s obesity problem. What does this say? America is over weight and not getting any skinnier. The health and wealth industry is a multi-billion dollar industry.

According the the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) the number one cause of death is heart disease and Wikipedia says cardiovascular disease.

What is the main cause of heart disease? Being over weight.

If one keeps their weight under control and maintains a healthy lifestyle all other health issues can be drastically reduced and add years to one’s life.
