We were out on a hike yesterday and were discussing some prospecting ideas and while we were out there we had a debate on different prospecting styles that people have and what is most effective.
One style of prospecting we like to call is the “Louisville Slugger” direct approach of pulling out the baseball bat and clubbing people right over the head with your MLM products and or opportunity. Does this approach work? For some Yes and for some NO.
Mimi takes more on the Louisville Slugger approach where I (Tyler) take more of a F.O.R.M. approach of building rapport and filling needs.
People have different styles of prospecting and recruiting but is one style more effective than the other? Although people have different styles of prospecting I would argue that it is not about YOU the person that is doing the prospecting but rather it is about the person on the other end that is being prospected.

If you pull out the Louisville Slugger right out of the gate you risk having people run the other way and avoiding you at all cost.
There is one BIG advantage people have that are not afraid to being direct and that is that they typically are not afraid to ask for the sale. Regarless of your approach the key is to ask for the sale. So many people I see are afraid to simply ask “Would You Like To Give It A Try?
The key to being successful is taking the Go For No approach. It is not about getting YESes it is about getting NO’s because the more NO’s you get the more YESes you will end up with.
So there is no wrong or right approach to prospecting but you do have to step up to the plate and go to bat to hit singles and the more times you swing the more home runs you will hit.
