Working your warm market when first getting started in network marketing is key to getting off to a fast start.

Within our first 45 days of building our business we enrolled 25+ people from our warm market which was the foundation to our success today.  3 years later we still actively work our warm market with success.

The question is how to go about talking to and building your warm market? Below are some tips that may help you when approaching your warm market.

1. Make a list of your warm market and put into categories. I know you are saying “I don’t want to make a list and do MLM the old school way” but if you do this and make the calls it really works. The question is how bad do you want it?

We made and continue to make our list and put people into these categories:

  • successful and looking for a change
  • fun
  • facing health challenges
  • open to other streams of income without changing what they are currently doing
  • people into health and nutrition

We then pick up the phone and call the people on our list and based on the category we put them will say “the reason for my call is I know you are facing a health challenge and was wondering if you would be open to trying something that may help you?” We cut straight to the chase when making the phone call and ask them a questions to see if there may be an interest. If so we send them more information and follow-up to enroll them.

2. Build relationships. Building relationships and becoming genuinely interested in other is key to your success. It is not about YOU! It is about getting to know others and asking questions to learn more about the other person than they know about you. As a result others will want to reciprocate and learn more about what it is that you do.

3. Expose yourself by making it know to others about your home based business. Be an ambassador of your company and product by wearing your company gear, doing booths in your local area to gain local exposure, get involved with local clubs, sponsor local groups, if there are opportunities to get involved do.  You never know who you will meet that will be interested or lead you to someone else.

4. Don’t quit. When people say NO to you it is not personal but most often they are questioning your commitment.  If you stay the course someone that said “NO” to you a year ago may say “YES” a year later because you are still in the game and committed to the success of yourself and others. I can’t tell you how many times this has happen to us. It is a big number! We talked to someone that said NO and a year later they said YES. Stay in the game and know that quitting is not an option. How do you expect someone to say YES to you if you always quit and don’t follow through with what you set out to do?

5. Know that everyone’s Clock Dial is set different. Go read this post: click here

6. Don’t club people over the head with your Louisville Slugger. We call this vomiting on your warm market. If you want to get people to avoid you like the plague then bug them about your product and opportunity to the point that when they see you they run the other way. This is a mistake we made early on. We were so excited about our product and opportunity that we thought everyone would see the same thing we saw and we went out and bugged everyone about it. Although we did well and enrolled tons of people we also turned tons of people off. It is important to follow #2 above and build relationships first. Losing friends is not the purpose. Although losing negative friends is NOT a bad idea.
