There are days when I am out training with other people and their influence is less than what I need for my training for the Ironman Triathlon in Kona, Hawaii. They may be in a different place with their training or focusing on a completely different goal.  Even though I love to train with others, there are some days I need to stay focused  on my training schedule and don’t get caught up with what others have on their schedule.

We know what it takes to succeed in Vemma so we need to stick to the plan and don’t let nay sayers tell us any different. Surround yourself with positive people who have the same vision and goals. This way you can keep each other motivated and accountable to stay on track.

In life it is normal to get off track every once in awhile. When you get off track get plugged in to those that are on track that have a positive influence and have set their sights high!

The 2 hours and 45 minute run was a monumental day for my Kona training! It ended up to be 17 miles in 102 degrees!

There were many obstacles that made me want to shorten or end my run. With 24 minutes to go I ran out of water.  Luckily there was some nice people on the road that filled up my water bottle. They were concerned for me and wanted to give me a ride.  The plan was to run the 17 miles knowing that to finish the planned run it would make it  much easier to accomplish the goal set for Kona.

Just as it is in our Vemma business it is much easier to accomplish the goals set if the plan is followed.  If the plan says to talk to 2 people a day 5 days a week by following the plan it will help us achieve the goals set for our Vemma business.

My thought for the day was to stay on the Road to Kona! Follow the plan! Don’t Quit!

Just as this message carried over to the plan set for Vemma. Do something daily to move your Vemma business forward!

Never Quit on a difficult day!

This past weekend was the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race aka “Race Across The Sky” which Tyler dedicated to Rodger Hanft. Rodger is a close family member who has a stage 4 glioma brain tumor which is terminal. Rodger, pictured below, is fighting for his life!

A week prior to the event we had dinner with Rodger and he let us know that Leadville, Colorado is a special place for him and that he wants his ashes spread at Rainbow Lake. Rainbow Lake is in the Leadville, CO area and the bike course for the Leadville 100 goes near the lake.

Tyler dedicated his ride to Rodger and at about mile 80 started to struggle. Tyler dug deep and knew that in order to dedicated the ride to Rodger he had to finish. Rodger was a BIG inspiration to Tyler during the race.

The course was 104 miles with over 10,000 feet of climbing with a max elevation of around 12,500 feet. It took Tyler 10 hrs and 43 minutes to complete. Not bad for very little training for the event. Watch the video above to see how Tyler got into the event last minute.

A BIG thanks to Dave Wiens and Travis Brown and his wife Mary for making Leadville possible for me.

Below are some pictures I took at the event.

Tour de France and cycling super star Levi Leipheimer broke Lance Armstrong’s record of last year and won the event. Below is a picture of Tyler and Levi.

After the awards Tyler and I had the opportunity to visit with Leadville 100 legend Dave Wiens and another star athlete Travis Brown. Dave Wiens beat Lance Armstrong in 2008 during Lance Armstrong’s comeback.

Tyler was pretty spanked after the ride as you can see below.

I want to say thanks to Chuck Hess for tuning in to my thoughts on my Road to Kona! It was great meeting you yesterday! And what a great ride! I usually ride on the east side of Tucson so it was really nice to ride on the west side and meet new people!

Chuck was mentioning that he really liked my thought about that you have to work at anything to be successful. So today when I was on my ride on the east side to Marsh Station I had plenty of time to expound on that thought. Yes you do have to put time into anything to be successful but more than that you need to be specific with your time. When I train for an ironman I know exactly how many hours of cycling, running and swimming I need to do to do well. I usually log in my hours on a calendar so I can keep track of it.

Just as I do in my Vemma business I track my time as to how many people do I share, follow-up and enroll in a calendar. Most days I talk to at least 5 people a day. Some of them are new prospects such as Chuck was yesterday and some are follow-up calls and some are already enrolled and need to learn more of how to do the same.

If you truly want to be successful with Vemma, I would recommend that you talk to two new people a day about Vemma and or Verve five days a week. That would be 40 new people a month and from that you should be able to enroll 6-10 new people a month. In order to keep it straight on who you talk to write it down and log it into your calendar. That way you can keep yourself accountable.

It doesn’t have to be hard. Make it fun! That way more people will want to be associated with what you do!

As I was riding my bike today, I realized that not only do you need to have a plan but you need to know what your plan is in detail and write it down.

In order to be able to figure out your plan, you have to start out with a goal. For example, my training plan for an Ironman triathlon is quite different than my plan for a sprint triathlon. The time it takes to train for an Ironman is twice as long as it is for a sprint triathlon.

Just as if your income goal in Network Marketing was to make an extra $500 a month vs making an extra $10,000 a month. To add an extra $500 a month it may take a couple of hours a week compared to if you want to make an extra $10,000 a month you would probably have to invest at least 10 hours a week for 1 -3 years.

The more hours you put in over a period of time the more successful you will be. Remember that you can’t go out and do an Ironman over night. It takes consistency over time.  No different in Network marketing.
