Be Grateful

The economy has shaken a lot of people which has led to a rise in habitual complaining. Jon Gordon says there are two main reasons why people complain.

  • We complain because we feel powerless.
  • We complain because it’s a habit.

We are all guilty of complaining form time-to-time and we want to encourage everyone to go without complaining because it will help you have a more positive life with Peace and Joy

Here are 5 tips from Jon Gordon on how to live a more positive life without complaining:

1. Practice Gratitude: When we are grateful it boosts our happiness which uplifts and energizes us. One can’t possibly be grateful and negative at the same time.

2. Praise Others: Focus on what people are doing right instead of looking at what people are doing wrong. Encourage them and praise them for their accomplishments!

3. Focus on Success: At the end of the day look at one great thing you did for the day.

4. Let Go: Focus on the things that you have the power to change, and let go of the things that are beyond your control.

5. Pray: Scientific research shows that daily prayer reduces stress; boosts positive energy; and promotes health, vitality, and longevity

We talk to many people wanting to take their Vemma business to the next level and everyone is always looking for the key to success. Well I have to say that the key to success starts with “YOU” and no one else.

If you don’t become more you can’t earn more!

Over the last week I have been connecting with many top MLM money earners on Twitter and Facebook who make an excess of 1 million dollars or more a year asking them what books had the biggest impact on them on their path of personal development. I knew before asking the question to others what books would be on my list but was curious as to if some, most, or all of my books would be on their list as well.

The list below of recommended readings are great books that have influenced my life. Most everyone  I did talk to had one book in common and that was “How To Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie. If you are wanting to take “YOU” to the next level in 2010 then a book from the list below is a great place to start.

  1. How To Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie – Ok, I am going old school but this one is at the top of the list. I would bet than anyone that is successful has read this book at some time in their life. A must read for those that have not read this awesome book! It is the first book you want to start with as the foundation for all principles as the foundation to success.
  2. “Go-Giver” by Bog Burg and John David Mann – The “Go-Giver” is a modern day version of “How To Win Friends and Influence People” and another great read on the road to success!
  3. “Awaken The Giant Within” by Anthony Robbins - The above 2 books are more about other people and if you are genuinly interested in other people you will win friends. Awaken The Giant is more about you and pain and pleasure principles of creating life lasting change.
  4. “The Magic Of Thinking Big” by David Schwartz – I have to be honest. I have not read this one but have it on order and will read it over the holidays. It was on the list of several people that are extremely successful that I look up to so I felt it needed to be included. I will report back as to my thoughts on the book over the holidays.
  5. “The Traveler’s Gift” by Andy Andrews - I was at a mortgage training seminar back in early 2000 and Andy Andrews was one of the key note speakers. I was extremely impressed with him and bought his book. Wow what a great book. There are 7 decisions that determine personal success that Mr. Andrews talks about in his book. Another must read!
  6. “Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman - This is a book I read while in college and one that had a huge impact on me. It is a great story that is all about living in the moment.

Question For The Post (QFTP): What is a book you have read that helped you to become a better “you”? Please comment below.

The Go-Giver: A Little Story About a Powerful Business Idea

When I was at the St. Louis Training in September, many from our Vemma Elite team recommended the Go- Giver. This past weekend I finally got around to reading this book. It is a easy read so I highly recommend it to everyone.

The Go-Giver tells the story of an ambitious young man named Joe who yearns for success. Joe is a true go-getter, though sometimes he feels as if the harder and faster he works, the further away his goals seem to be.  One day desperate to land a key sale he seeks advice from a legendary consultant named Pindar.

Over the next week Pindar introduces Joe to a series of “go- givers”. Joe Learns that changing his focus from getting to giving— putting others’ interest first and adding value to their lives—- ultimately leads to unexpected returns.

The Go- Giver is a heartwarming and inspiring tale that brings to life the old proverb “Give and you shall receive.”

One of the authors of the The Go-Giver Bob Burg sent me a nice little tweet on Twitter.
