Vanessa and Jared Nyhus Success Story
Say less to more!
By Kathryn Bertine

Vanessa Nyhus has been around the network marketing industry her whole life. Growing up, her mother worked from home and created a successful life in the residual income business, so it was no surprise to Vanessa that she found her way into a great company like Vemma.
“For two years I taught 5th grade as an elementary educator, but I recognized that was not a good fit for me. My mother was very successful in the networking marketing industry, on both the corporate and distributor side, and I wanted a way to stay home with my two young daughters.”
After working for a different network marketing company, Vanessa left because it was too difficult for “the average person” to make any sustainable income. “That company had over 300 products, whereas Vemma had just one. It was the simplicity of Vemma that was so attractive to me.” Another major attraction was the fact Vemma gives its team members a free website and weekly paychecks. “When you’re paid weekly, every week you are motivated for the next week! And the free marketing use of the website is terrific,” Vanessa says. Of course, the heart of her motivation comes down to the product “I believe in nutrition supplementation, I grew up with that. You have to have a 30-day consumable product that you believe in, that is really the most important thing.”
For Vanessa, building relationships and “keeping it simple” is the path to success. “I am all about keeping it simple,” she says, advising that getting to know your consumers and your sellers is the most important part of the puzzle. If you don’t ask questions of your consumers, you’ll never know if Vemma—the product or the opportunity—can fit into their lifestyle.” Also, anyone planning to invest in Vemma should remember that building relationships are about making yourself available. “The team building stance has to be a priority. This way, my team will feel comfortable putting me in front of their prospects as 3rd party credibility.”
Vannessa advises that new Vemma partners would do well to plug into up line support and stay connected. Another wise word of advice? “Say less to more people,” Vanessa believes. By asking simple questions, leaders know what information to give. Giving too much information, or what Vanessa colorfully calls “vomiting unwanted information on people” is a waste of time for everyone. Getting the product into the hands of the right people is key, but too much information and energy spent on the wrong person can be a roadblock. “Keep it simple and ask the right questions. This way you don’t waste their time or yours!”
As for life outside of Vemma, Vanessa loves spending time with her 5 and 7-year-old daughters, whom she coaches on the local soccer team. Horseback riding and gym classes like boot camp and cross-training keep Vanessa and her family healthy and active, and her role as a leader in Vemma has transferred well at home. “We live in an old house and we’re always remodeling something, so I get to play general contractor in getting it done!”
